1/4 cup applesauce

2 cups kamut flour
1 tsp baking soda (just a teaspoon, but I did unfortunately discover that YES, it is an important ingredient).

What an amazing visit. I spent quality time with my mom; we picked homegrown vegetables from her community garden and laid by the pool all weekend. I love hearing reminders that the practice of yoga is not intended to be another means of stroking the ego. Master Iyengar says, "Do not kill the instinct of the body for the glory of the pose." Dr. Ray Long describes what this means in terms of practicing asana in line with our own body's needs. Remember: the journey IS the goal.

From my own practice, I've found the greatest benefit comes from hugging the muscles of the legs to the bones, firming the thighs, activating the triceps, and so on.  I returned from Toronto with a new love. A fire has been sparked from deep within. A passion ignited that I had assumed could never be awoken. Not like this. The anticipation of coming together again, the heat in my cheeks, the chill reverbrating through my spine. The thrill and exuberance and energy that could not be contained as I left you, looking forward to our next time together.
